Cienfuegos: The City of Rafael & Benny
Rafael Cáceres is a Cienfuegos man, the same as the most famous Cuban bolero singer: Benny Moré.
His works should be interpreted in the context of a daily life in a city called the Pearl of the South, for its rare combination of a feisty Caribbean spirit, with French elegance deeply rooted in Cuban traditions. Dazzling under its tropical sun; kissed by sweet salty breezes but also battered by regular hurricanes, Cienfuegos is and has been Rafael’s source of inspiration, as an artist and as engraving professor.
